Depart on your Historic Gettysburg and Philadelphia adventure! En route, enjoy a visit to Hershey’s Chocolate World for a tour taking a delicious journey from tropical cocoa bean to wrapped candy bar in this free chocolate factory tour ride. Feel the warmth of roasting cocoa beans, smell rich milk chocolate, and watch thousands of candies twist and turn on conveyor belts. Continue to Gettysburg and check into the Hilton Garden Inn Gettysburg for a two-night stay! This evening, enjoy dinner at one of Gettysburg’s great restaurants. The first morning, following breakfast, visit the Gettysburg National Military Park, Museum & Visitor Center. Enjoy the exhibits, movies, and Cyclorama. Then meet your licensed tour guide and venture out for a Battlefield tour and learn of the three famous days of 1863: The Battle of Gettysburg and home to the largest battlefield shrine in North America with over 1,000 monuments and cannons. Take some time to freshen up before enjoying a delicious dinner at one of Gettysburg’s oldest and most historic dining establishments. Tonight, a very famous Living History Presenter will be joining us. On day three, we will visit one of the world’s great gardens, Longwood Gardens showcases more than 9,000 species and varieties of plants spread out across more than 1,000 acres of gardens and elaborate horticultural displays. This celebrated botanical garden attracts visitors from around the globe thanks to outdoor and indoor gardens, fountain shows, and picturesque meadows and woodlands. The institution was originally founded by Pierre du Pont in 1906 and has since become world-renowned for its dedication to botany, design, education, and art. This afternoon, arrive in the City of Brotherly Love and the Birthplace of our Nation – Philadelphia PA! Check in to the centrally located Holiday Inn Express Midtown Philadelphia and take some time to freshen up and relax before enjoying a planned dinner this evening at one of the city’s great restaurants. The following morning enjoy breakfast before meeting your tour guide for a fun-filled day exploring the city! Tour of America’s most historic square mile, the Independence National Historical Park. There are almost two dozen historical sites that tell American history, and all are within walking distance of each other. While on tour, visit with some of the Founding Fathers and Mothers who forged a nation! This engaging presentation will give you an exclusive look into the minds of some of the great men and women who fought for freedom and liberty for all. Learn about their personal and political lives from their own perspective. Visit the Home of Betsy Ross and Independence Hall, the birthplace of our nation. This historic site was originally built as the Pennsylvania State House, and it is where the Declaration of Independence was first adopted, and where the U.S. Constitution was written. Then visit the Liberty Bell Center to view the Liberty Bell. Some other highlights include Independence Hall, the President’s House, and Christ Church Burial Ground — where Ben Franklin is buried. While here, we’ll enjoy admission to the National Constitution Center, an essential Historic Philadelphia destination to explore the history and relevance of the Constitution, celebrate their freedoms, and embrace their role in the story of “We the People.” A trip to Philly wouldn’t be complete without a picture stop at the famous “Rocky Steps” - the site of the famous running of the stairs by Rocky Balboa played by Sylvester Stallone in the “Rocky” film series. Walk or run up to the top step to enjoy the amazing view of Philadelphia seen from this Philadelphia Art Museum entrance. Tonight, enjoy a scenic dinner cruise on the Spirit of Philadelphia! On day five, enjoy breakfast this morning, followed by some leisure time before departing for home.
