Pennsylvania Dutch Experience August 20-23, 2024

Tues-Thurs, August 20-23, 2024  $1,520.00 (Double), $1,825.00 (Single)

This morning we’ll depart for Pennsylvania’s Amish Country! The Pennsylvania Amish of Lancaster County is America’s oldest Amish settlement, where thousands still live a centuries-old “Plain” lifestyle. Arriving in PA Dutch Country allows you to step back in time to enjoy a slower, more peaceful pace – one where the horse & buggy remain a primary form of transportation, and where windmills dot the landscape, providing power harnessed from nature. Check into the Doubletree Resort in Lancaster, PA where we’ll receive a warm greeting from your Local Tour Guide. Take some time to freshen up before enjoying a delicious Amish Smorgasbord/Family Style dinner. Following breakfast, we’ll depart with our local guide for a rolling tour of the farmlands. Following the tour, visit Kitchen Kettle Village for free time and lunch. The Village has over 40 specialty shops, restaurants, and plenty of hands-on activities including a self-guided tasting tour in our Jam & Relish Kitchen, locally made quilts to hand-crafted candles, and locally cured meats and cheeses. Then, we’ll board an authentic Amish Buggy for a ride through the countryside. Friendly drivers will enlighten and entertain us with stories and information about the Amish. Later this afternoon, we’re off to the Amish Experience for the production, “Jacob’s Choice,” which features an intimate view of the Amish today through the eyes of the Fisher family and scenes from Amish history re-created with multiple projection screens and special effects. Afterward, tour the Fisher Family Homestead & One Room Schoolhouse. Tonight, enjoy a wonderful evening at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre including dinner and a performance of Jersey Boys! The next morning after breakfast, meet your local guide and depart for another fun day in Amish Country! Enjoy a visit to the Amish Village, a 12-acre village offering an authentic look at Amish life. Enjoy a guided tour of the 1840 Amish Farmhouse, Village Store, Smokehouse Market, Blacksmith Shop, and One-Room Schoolhouse with a real Amish teacher. Then visit a traditional Amish Quilt shop. This afternoon, enjoy an amazing performance of Daniel at the Sight & Sound Theatre! After the performance, enjoy another delicious Amish Smorgasbord dinner! On our last day, enjoy breakfast before departing for home, taking wonderful stories of your vacation to Pennsylvania’s Amish Country!
